Hello Warrior Families,

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the finally enjoying the fall weather! The end of the first quarter of school was October 11th and your child’s first quarter report card will be sent home Thursday, October 17th. Please make sure you review your child’s progress and encourage your child to set goals for improvement in the second quarter of school. The end of the second quarter progress reporting period is November 12th. Students should not have any grades of D or F and maintain a GPA of at least 2.5.   Teachers provide tutoring during lunch and after if your child needs additional support in their classes. If you are concerned about your child’s progress, you can also reach out to our Academic Counselors, Ms. Ihde for 7th grade and Mr. Margison for 8th grade.

Our October Parent Engagement Coffee Hour will be Thursday, October 24th at 9:30 am and the topic will be Social Media. You will also have an opportunity to hear my message and ask questions. I hope you can join us at our Parent Coffee Hour this month and remember to please sign in at our office prior to attending the meeting on campus. We will also be hosting our McLane Region LCAP Community Meeting on October 22nd at 5:00 pm in our Cafeteria. Please join us to learn about our Local Control and Accountability Plan and provide input and the most important things our District needs to support all students. Please review our Dress and Grooming Policy in the Scandinavian Parent Student Handbook provided in the registration packet on our school website. We appreciate your support ensuring your child is in dress code with their backpack, student planner and charged laptop daily. Students will be required to have their ID card daily at school and they will need it to ride the bus, check out books, attend school events and receive lunch starting November 1st.

We will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week October 21st- 25th, and students will have a dress up theme each day to support their commitment to say no to drugs. The dress up information will be in the morning announcements, posted at school, on our website and social media account. Students will be allowed to dress up for Halloween, but costumes must be appropriate and within dress code guidelines. Face masks and fake blood are not allowed.

If your child needs a backpack, laptop case or any other school supplies, have them see our counselors or anyone in the front office.  Students need to have their backpack, charged laptop and academic planner with them daily at school.

Please make sure you visit our school website weekly for important information.  You can also follow us on Instagram @scanwarriorsofficial.  Thank you for your continued support and Go Warriors!

Sincerely,

Julie Ellis, Principal
