Dear Students and Parents/Guardians:
Welcome to the Scandinavian Learning Community! Our mission is to prepare all students socially, emotionally, and academically to become college and career-ready graduates. To that end, we have many new enrichment and intervention programs and many extra activities planned for our students and parents this coming year.
Students receiving this letter are PRE-REGISTERED but must complete the ANNUAL REGISTRATION PACKET materials PRIOR TO SCHOOL STARTING. Below is a breakdown of dates and important events to help complete this task. Students will not be allowed to attend classes until all registration packet materials are collected. Please do not wait until the first day of school, as your child will miss valuable instructional time.
Incoming 7th or 8th Grade Students
Registration Packet Pick-Up – (Office) Monday, August 4th & Tuesday, August 5th from 8:00am-4:00pm
Walk Through/Return Registration Packet –(Cafe) August 11th and 12th (Monday or Tuesday) from 4:00pm -7:00pm
7th Grade Orientation Friday, August 15th from 8am to 1pm
First Day of School Monday, August 18th
Back to School Night Thursday, August 28th 5:00-7:30 pm
Open House Tuesday, March 10th 5:00-7:00 pm
Registration Packets include mandatory forms as well as valuable information to inform families about report cards and other important dates, policies, programs, and expectations at Scandinavian Middle School. Parents can pick up the Registration Packets beginning on Monday, August 4th, and Tuesday, August 5th in the Scandinavian Office from 8am to 4pm. Incoming 7th-grade parents are required to bring proof of address in the name of the parent/guardian and T-Dap immunization records (if not already cleared through the Nurse’s Office) to the packet pick-up. Acceptable proof of address includes PG&E, water bill, cable bill, or mortgage/rental agreement only. No other forms will be accepted.
During Walk Through/Return Registration Packet evening events, completed forms must be returned. Once all required forms are collected, you will receive your student’s class schedule. PE clothes can also be purchased during this event ($20.00 for a set, $10.00 for a shirt, and $10.00 for shorts, and $5.00 for a combination lock).
We are excited to welcome back all our students on August 18th. Breakfast and lunch will be served, and buses will be running. Bus route schedules will be on our school website and available at the Walk-Through Registration evenings.
